Hand Therapy
Hand therapy is a specialized area of therapy focused on treating a wide variety of conditions, illnesses, and injuries; while emphasizing improved functional ability. Therefore, treatment is specific to the individual.
Hand therapy requires specialization because of the anatomic complexity of the hands and upper extremities, and the ability to fabricate splints and orthotics. In fact becoming certified in hand therapy (a CHT) requires a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience and at least 2,000 hours of direct practice in hand therapy. There are two "CHT's" on staff at Northwest Hand Therapy.
